Long gone are the days when you could only get a case heard by going to the courthouse.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve seen an increased popularity with online services, contactless services, and even online court cases.

Many courthouses are utilizing programs such as Zoom to conduct a case, and we have some tips to make the best impression possible.
- Do a test trial of Zoom – make sure your program is updated, your computer is ready, and you know how to use the program. Make sure your photo and username are appropriate, and you don’t have any filters on. Make sure your camera and microphone work, your internet connection is strong, and you have a clean background behind you.
- Limit background noise and interruptions – make sure animals, children, and other adults do not interrupt you.
- Make a plan with your lawyer – determine ahead of time how you two will communicate during your hearing.
- Dress professionally – make sure your clothing is clean and polished, even ironed, your hair is tidy, and any makeup is minimal.
